Преображение Господне

На 6 август българската православна църква отбелязва Преображение Господне. Според Светото писание, на този ден Исус Христос укрепва вярата на учениците си в своя божествен произход, като се преобразява пред очите на трима от тях – Петър, Яков и Йоан.

Лицето Му засиява, дрехите Му стават бели като сняг, до него се появяват двама мъже “сияещи от светлина” – Мойсей и Илия и беседват с него. На Преображение Господне вярващите се пречистват след петдесетдневен пост. Позволено е да се яде риба.

На този ден се бере първото грозде и се раздава на близки и съседи.  Според народното поверие, на Преображение Господне “лятото се пречупва” и започва да върви към есента и студа.
