Thirty-five exhibits received gold medals at the International Technical Fair 2009 in Plovdiv. The highest market awards in Bulgaria were given to 22 Bulgarian and 13 foreign products.
Fourteen gold medals were presented to exhibits in the category "Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, Office Equipment". Nine awards for innovative products were handed to companies in the category "Construction", further five gold medals went to the manufacturers within the category "Transport and Auto Service Equipment". The categories "Machine Building" and "Power Engineering, Ecology, Water Management and Technologies, Chemical Industry" won four gold medals each.
"The distinctions of the International Technical Fair are traditionally deemed to be the "Oscars" for business achievements. This time, however, we should call them "the Prizes of Optimism", because those, who win the gold medals, are 100-percent optimists. Under the current hard conditions they try not to survive, but to create innovative products and look beyond today's restrictions", commented Ivan Sokolov, Senior Director of International Fair Plovdiv at the traditional Gold Medal Awards Ceremony.
The Industrial Design Prize was awarded to the magical Rubik's spherical puzzle, which is the new modification of the famous Rubik's Cube. That was one of the three prizes presented within the Competition of Design and Advertising organized by the National Association of Design and Advertising in cooperation with International Fair Plovdiv for the best exhibition stand, industrial and packaging design.
1,991 companies from 43 companies participate in the ITF 2009 from 28 September to 3 October 2009. On display at the Autumn Fair are 15 world innovations and 72 products appearing for the first time on the Bulgarian market.
