Plovdiv is the fifth oldest city in the world. This became clear in the rating of the Daily Telegraph disclosed yesterday. The city was founded in 4000 BC. and is the second largest in Bulgaria after Sofia. There live 379 882 people.

According to the paper, Plovdiv is a very important economic, cultural, educational and transportation center for the country, where you can see many ancient monuments, including a Roman amphitheater and the Turkish baths.
   

 

  •     First in the ranking is for the city of Jericho, which is located in Palestine. It was founded in 9000 BC Jericho is the oldest continuously inhabited city.
