The oldest tortoise in Bulgaria was found in a Plovdiv backyard

A giant tortoise, weighing more than 3 kg and shell length of 30 cm was discovered in a backyard by Plovdiv family. The experts have evaluated its age to being approximately 100-year-old. The old one was living with another 3 tortoises in the same backyard.

The house was recently sold and the buyers discovered tortoises, havinh no idea how long the tortoises have spent there. They have been handed to ecologists who have already taken care to release tortoises to their natural habitat.
