AGRA 2007
The International Agricultural Exhibition AGRA will be held from 20 to 24 February under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The exhibition is held for 16th successive year and has long-established traditions. AGRA is one of the most successful exhibitions in the calendar of International Fair Plovdiv. An acknowledgment for the quality and the prestige of the exhibition is the fact that AGRA is an UFI-approved event since 1995.
This edition is organized on a larger scale compared to the last year event, which was announced as record-breaking.
The number of participants is significant: 831 companies (Bulgarian – 340, foreign – 491) from 39 countries: Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA.
Comparison of participation: 762 companies from 37 countries in 2006; 608 companies in 2005; 513 companies in 2004
The occupied exhibition areas are also record-breaking – 20, 400 sq.m. and exceed those from last year (18, 000 sq.m.)
The wide participation is felt not only by the Bulgarian business circles but also by the representatives of other countries. The biggest number of exhibitors applied for participation is registered by Italy (100), Germany (76), France (44), the Netherlands (32), Greece (26), Turkey (24) and the USA (24). The companies from Turkey, Greece, Hungary, France and Spain have occupied the largest exhibition areas.
Official participation: the Netherlands – organized by the Agricultural Office of the Royal Netherlands Embassy; Argentina – organized by the Embassy of Argentina in Sofia; France - organized by UBIFRANCE.
Collective participation: Spain – FEMAC; Poland - WORLD EXPO INTERNATIONAL; Serbia – ELIAS; Hungary - MAC LINE KET.
AGRA outlines the newest trends and alternative methods in the field of agriculture. Considerable participation interest is registered in the exhibition categories Plant-Growing, including Selected Seeds, Planting Material, Machines and Implements; Stock-Breeding; Agricultural Chemicals.
The exhibition is the venue where our farmers showcase their latest achievements and have the opportunity to meet not only their Bulgarian competitors, but also their European partners.
The National Centre for Agrarian Science will present 39 institutes demonstrating the innovations in the field of agriculture.
Numerous conferences, seminars, business meetings and presentations are organized to make the forum even more effective.
The exhibition stands are built in Pavilions 4, 6, 7 and 13 of the Fairground as well as in the adjacent open areas V, V?, V??, ?? and XI. Working hours for visitors: from 09.00 to 18.00 hrs, for exhibitors – from 08.00 to 19.00 hrs. Admission ticket – 3 BGN; for students and retired people – 2 BGN; for a group of 10 or more students from vocational schools – 1 BGN.
International Fair Plovdiv will present awards to the visitors of the agricultural exhibition AGRA 2007. Every visitor completed a questionnaire card may have the luck to win: a petrol tiller, a powered sprayer (20 liters) or a backpack sprayer. The winner will be drawn by a committee in the presence of Notary Public on 24 February (Saturday) at 14.00 hrs in Pavilion 6 of the Fairground.
