That date 146 years ago, the great BG writer Aleko Konstantinov was born in the town of Svishtov on the Danube River. He is most famous for his literary hero Baj Ganyo (considered a collective figure of his contemporary post-liberation vulgar type of person), as well as for his travel books, articles and feuilletons.
