St Naoum of Ohrid was the youngest of Cyril and Methodius? disciples. He was born in the town of Devol, in today?s Macedonia, he taught the Christ?s faith, lived there and died there. His relics are believed to cure diseases.
St Naoum of Ohrid died on December 23rd, 910, when he is commemorated. But probably due to the fact that this day is during the winter, and during the Christmas Fasting period, the Ohrid Episcopate (which was an independent entity until 1767) declared the day June 20th as the official Day of St Naoum.
