Bulgaria?s tourism revenues for the first five months of 2005 have increased by 440.6 million Euro, which is 7% more than the last year?s results of the same period.  The tourism revenues for the whole 2004 are 1.7 billion Euro. Bulgaria was visited by 2.7 million foreigners in the first half of 2005, according to the National Statistics Institute ? 1.53 million of the visitors were tourists, 169,084 visited BG on a business trip, 18,800 were guests to BG hosts, while 820,000 made a transit journey through the territory of Bulgaria.

 

The largest percentage of tourists for the first half of 2005 were from Germany (298,000 people), followed by Macedonia (248,000) and Serbia and Montenegro (212,000).
