Christmas Eve Dinner dishes all over the world are various? The roast turkey is the key dish in the Christmas menu in most of the west European countries, USA, Australia and Canada, while the roast goose is traditional for Germany, Belgium, Denmark, England and France and in some parts of France it is substituted with a roast rooster.

Fish is popular for Christmas in all Scandinavian countries, where they usually have dried cod but salmon is very popular in Sweden, while Czech Republic and Slovakia they have carp with beer.

Italy is offering fish and oysters until midnight, then switch to a rich tagliatelle with salmon, black caviar, roast rooster, etc.

Hungary goes for the traditional blood sausage, which is also believed to bring luck and richness.

France has 13 desserts, as was the number of the members of the Last Supper.

East Orthodox Russia has only meatless and dairy-less dishes: small roll-pies filled with mushrooms, or rice, or cooked cabbage, anchovy, vinaigrette, and always the traditional boiled wheat with crushed almonds.
