The Plovdiv artist Mincho Panayotov is going to celebrate his 60th anniversary with an exhibition called "Open Atelier" in the City Art Gallery. He is going to paint right there, in front of visitors and guests, for two weeks' period - the painting marathon starts tomorrow, 6 PM. The journalist, poet and belle-lettre writer Georgi Raichevski will be the guest to the "Seasons" Art-Salon today, 6 PM, on the occasion of his 65th anniversary . Vladimir Yanev, PhD, will present to the audience Georgi Raichevski's books dedicated to events and figures connected to the history of our city (if you visit our section "Figures of Plovdiv" you will notice the information sources footnotes - his book dedicated on Plovdiv's famous figures has been our main source of information). A group of Plovdiv intellectuals have proposed Mr. Raichevski to be awarded with the honorary badge of Plovdiv for his contribution for popularizing the city and its people.

Milcho Leviev and friends from Plovdiv have been discussing the idea of founding a scholarship on the name of the late writer and satirist, Radoy Ralin. The idea has already got the support of all the jazzmen in the city. Milcho Leviev, a world-famous composer and piano-player, has recently become the Head of the "Radoy Ralin" Foundation, which features the following members in its management board: the poet Boris Hristov, the literary critic Bozhidar Kounchev, the poetess Iva Nikolova, the ex-president of Bulgaria, Zhelyu Zhelev. The foundation is financed mainly by the copy-rights on Radoy Ralin's works and has the main goal to support young talents working in the field of literature, music, theatre and cinema.
