The EU Financial Ministers Council approved the new design of the year 2007 Euro coins, according to which map of the member countries is going to be competed with another 2 countries ? Bulgaria and Romania.
Meanwhile the design of Bulgarian Euro coins has been a subject of discussions. The Gergyovden Party insisted on the Cyrillic Alphabet image (see the first two images on the photo above).
Another option is a placing a feature from the famous Kazanluk Tomb, now staying at the coins minted on the occasion of the Bulgaria?s signing the April 25th EU agreement (see the third image on the photo) or the image of current 1 BGN coin, featuring St. John of Rila (see the last image above).
