Events in Plovdiv on the occasion of the 1340th anniversary of the April Uprising (1876)

April 25th, Tuesday, at 11.30 am, the conference hall of the Municipality is going to host a press conference with the participation of Stefan Shivachev, Director of the Plovdiv, and Tsvetan Moumdzhiev. There will be a presentation of the next-day discussion “Bulgarian Martyrdom in Thrace 1876-1877” (scheduled for April 26th) as well as scheduling the opening of the new memorial plate dedicated to the 254 Bulgarians who were murdered in Plovdiv after the April Uprising.

An interesting donation will be given by the Plovdiv Mayor at the press conference – each journalist is going to receive a copy of the book “The Bulgarian Golgotha” by the historians Alexander Pizhev, Svoboda Zapryanova and Stefan Shivachev. The official presentation of the book is taking place April 26th, 4.00 PM, at the Suedinenie Hall of the History Museum - Plovdiv.
