The 7th edition of the International Defense Equipment Exhibition HEMUS 2006 will be held from 31 May to 3 June in pavilions 3,7 and on open area V on the Fairground.By tradition, the exhibition is staged under the patronage of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria. International Fair-Plovdiv and Hemus Foundation are the organizers.At HEMUS 2006 participate 154 companies from 22 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, Litva, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Serbia and Montenegro, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, USA.(to your knowledge: 120 companies from 20 countries took part at HEMUS 2004)The largest expositions among the foreign participants belong to companies from Germany, USA, Italy, France, Great Britain and Poland.The greatest number of companies has Germany – 16, USA – 14, Poland – 11 and Italy – 9.Compared to 2004, new participant countries areAustria, China, Denmark, Finland, Litva,Luxemburg, Norway, Serbia and Montenegro, Sweden.The following exhibition categories attract the greatest number of participants:

The specialized exhibition will host the 3rdInternational Scientific Conference on military defense themes and many other business events.Shooting demonstrations will be organized on the Central Artillery Technical Test Range – Stara Zagora /Zmeevo/.Thanks to its geographical and geo strategic location, and the active government policy, Bulgaria ranks among the champions of security in the Balkan region.The International HEMUS Exhibition proves to be a forum of security, of the goodwill policy of our country and of the achievements of Bulgarian military complex.The previous six HEMUS editions highlighted the enhanced interest evinced in Bulgarian special purpose production. The exhibition’s organizers aim to back up contacts that will further the interest shown in Bulgarian arms and special purpose production to future markets found out.The exhibition will show the potentials of Bulgarian companies, active in the field of defense industry, and their successful adaptation to the market requirements under the new environment and Bulgaria’s NATO membership.
