The lights on the large Christmas tree in the centre of Plovdiv is going to be lit by the mayor, Dr. Ivan chomakov himself at an official ceremony tonight at 6 PM. The 20-meter-high tree, erected at the Stefan Stambolov square, right outside the City Hall, is going to be lit by almost 2000 meters of garlands, which will form a two-level cascade of lights combined with lit Christmas symbols. This year the tree is going to feature an attractive top of lights. Five beams of lights are going to conect the Christmas tree to neighboring buildings. Children from the Maya Kindergarten and the Malkiyat Prince Kindergarten, as well as the Peyo Yavorov Secondary School, are going to take part in the official ceremony of lighting up the Christmas tree.
