Plovdiv Ethnographic Museum is hosting two beautiful events dedicated to Martenitsas

On the occasion of forthcoming feast of March 1st (Martenitsa Day), the Plovdiv Ethnographic Museum is hosting two beautiful events connected to it:

Tomorrow, Feb,21st, a Martenitsa Workshop opens there ? the master Magdalena Barekova is going to demonstrate live to the audience her unique talent of producing the beautiful martenitsas. All martenitsas are for sale.

On the same occasion, another exhibition is going to open in the museum ? the ?Paris Martenitsas? exhibition of martenitsas collected by Bulgarian living in Paris. Mariana de Monti has carefully collected all the martenitsas sent by friends and relatives from Bulgaria ? the oldest ones date from 1950s. The exhibition will open March 1st.
