The popular French pop diva, Silvie Vartan, was born on August 15, 1944, in the village of Iskrets (some 8-9 km away from the town of Svoge, and 50 km north of Sofia). "Going back to my earliest childhood memories from Bulgaria, I have the feeling that I must have been the happiest kid finding out the world..."
Those words of Silvie Vartan are taken from her memoirs-book called "Between Shadow and Light". Her memories of her native Bulgaria are published by the Sluntse Publishing House.

On Friday the star born in Bulgaria will give autographs at the premiere of her book 'Between Shadow and Light' in the National palace of Culture (NPC).
