Moscow 1980 Olympic Games gymnastics champion Stoyan Delchev was awarded the prize of Honorary Citizen of Plovdiv several years after the event. But it was today that the Plovdiv current Mayor, Slavcho Atanassov, handed him the blue ribbon and the honorary diploma on the behalf of Plovdiv Municipality.

Stoyan Delchev has been living int he US for the last 18 years in Reno, NV, where he is coaching young gymnasts. He is proud that only for the past year he produced 4 national champions in gymnastics. Delchev was happy to visit beautiful Plovdiv which is native city for a large number of eminent sportsmen.
