The 22nd Musical Festival on the stage of the Ancient Theater in the Old Town of Plovdiv is opening today. The festival is organized by the Plovdiv Opera and Philharmonic Society and features three opera, two ballet and one rock-concert performances.
The first two opera performances - Tosca and Nabucco, are going to be conducted by Maestro Georgi Atanassov. The third one, Traviata, will be conducted by the guest conductor Alfonso Scarano - with the participation of the Italian baritone Marcello Lippi and the Czech soprano Romana Vacaro.
The two ballet productions of the Sofia National Opera, Goat's Horn (Koziat Rog) and the Zorba the Greek, will also be performed during the festival.
