The International Children's Day and the Day of Europe Celebrations

6/1/2006 11:30:43 AM

Today we celebrate the International Children’s Day. But today Plovdiv is also expected to be the core of the Day of Europe Celebrations organized in the 28 regional centers of Bulgaria under the guardianship of the European Commission Delegation in Bulgaria. The Plovdiv Project includes informational and culture events and has been supervised by the Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Euro-Info Center.

The celebrations are expected to open with a discussion “Europe – We Have a Say Too”. All representatives of the European Commission Delegation in Bulgaria, Plovdiv Municipality and Municipal Management are expected to plant a tree in the Plovdiv Central Park as a symbol of new life and opportunities. Also a fair called “Europe Station” will open there with stands presenting each of the EU member countries, including national cuisine, symbols, tourist and popular information.

Celebrations will close with the award-giving ceremony for the essay-writing contest and the drawing contest – both named “The European Values of My City”.
