Plovdiv is a candidate for financing by the government of Norway on two projects for refinement of cultural and historic monumnets - the one on Nebet Tepe hill, and the other one - the Ancient Roman Stadium.
1. The Ancient Philippopolis Roman Stadium in the Old Town of Plovdiv
Main beneficiary on this project is the Plovdiv Regional Administration, partnering with Plovdiv Municipality, Cultural Tourism Association and the Government of Norway. The project has been evaluated on 896,825 Euro, 85% of which will be financed by the Norvegian government on the Preservation of European Cultural Heritage Program; and 15 % is BG co-financing.
2. Conservation and restoration of Nebet Tepe hill
Main beneficiary on this project is the Plovdiv Municipality, partnering with Plovdiv Regional Administration and the Government of Norway. The goal of that project is to preserve the archaeological complex in its best condition - completion of the excavations in its western part, cnservation and exposition of the archaeological finds.
