You can help a young mom and her unborn baby live

You can help a young mom and her unborn baby live

8/21/2009 3:10:54 PM

Pregnant Polly has been diagnosed with placenta percreta, a rare condition in which the placenta grows through the uterine walls into the surrounding organs. In Polly’s case, the placenta has opened up the scar from her previous c-section, overgrown the lower part of the uterus, and penetrated the bladder, threatening also to impact the intestines.

The condition not only causes excruciating pain but threatens the lives of both the mother and the 23-week-old fetus. Polly needs to undergo surgery in Germany but in order to be admitted to the hospital she will have to pay 60 000 euro up front with possible additional charges.

The surgery in Germany has been scheduled for the end of September/beginning of October (when Polly’s unborn baby girl will reach 30 weeks and have a better chance to survive). However, due to a very high risk of hemorrhaging, Polly needs to be admitted to the hospital as soon as next week so that the doctors can monitor her condition closely.

For the time being donations to help Polly are being collected in her donations bank account:

IBAN: BG55 UBBS 8002 1434045910 ,

After the treatment, any funds remaining in the account will be donated to help others in need.
