Artistic Gymnastics Olympic and European champion, born in Plovdiv in 1959. He became the 1977 European champion in horizontal bar, in Vilnus, Lithuania; was the third in pommel horse and horizontal bar in Strasburg 1978; the absolute European champion and floor exercises European champion in Essen, germany, 1979; gold medalist in floor exercises and third place in the World Cup competition, Tokyo, 1979. Olympic champion in horizontal bar from the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.

He is the most famous BG gymnast; two new elements in the competiotion gymnastics programs have been named after him. He was appointed the BG gymnast of 20th century, followed by Jordan Jovchev and Kalofer Hristozov.

Stoyan Deltchev is currently living in the USA - in Rheno, Nevada. He is a gymnastics coach at his own club called "Delchev Gymnastics Academy".
