She was born on May 10th, 1960, in Plovdiv. Her début as a singer took place while she still was a high school student – she became the solo singer of the Pop-Music Band of the Plovdiv’s then Trade Union Center of Culture (today’s City Culture Center).

She demonstrated her talent right away and she was later enrolled in the Sofia Music Academy, which she graduated in professor Georgi Kordov’s class. She spent 4 years as a member of the VG Style pop-band and their several records were a huge success. Her first song as a solo singer was recorded in 1984 (music by Maria Ganeva). Her first solo LPs (1986 and 1988) turned her into one of the most popular BG pop-singers in the 1980s.

Veneta was among the first BG singers to found an own music school for young talents. She has one son, Angelin, whose father is the pop-singer Boyko Nedelchev.
