The following nature preserved areas are located within the Plovdiv Municipality: the Bunardjik hill, the Danov hill and the Dzhendem Tepe hill, as well as the naturally-grown plants on the Maritsa River banks.
The hills of Plovdiv are declared as nature preserved areas by an Environment Ministry Order 466 / dated Dec.22nd, 1995, with the aim to preserve and restore the existing species of flora and fauna, as well as to hold an adequate conservation policy.
