According to the economic analyzer of Industry Watch, Georgi Stoev, differences in purchasing power in the largest cities are due to quite a number of reasons. According to a recent analysis, one BGN can buy 20% more services in Plovdiv compared to Sofia, Varna, Bourgas.
According to Georgi Sotev, Plovdiv is less exposed to foreign intervention compared to Varna and Bourgas in terms of tourism and investments. More foreign investments means higher purchasing power, and therefore – higher prices for consumers. There is a tendency, though, for industrial investments in Plovdiv. Also investments in commercial objects – warehouses, storing halls, etc., have significantly increased.
