The town of Kozloduy celebrates its feast day today, May 30th. According to the earliest history of the town, it was founded back in the 16th century. Centuries in a row Thracians, Slavs and Bulgarians used to live along the southern coast of the Danube River near the location of today?s Kozloduy. May 17th, 1876, the revolutionary detachment of Hristo Botev stepped ashore here off the Radetzky steamboat (on the photo above).
