Web Chat mit Botschafter Beyrle

Web Chat mit Botschafter Beyrle

05.04.2006 18:21:00

The web chat is one of steps towards a modern communication. It offers an opportunity for a direct audiovisual contact and a chat line for asking question in real time.

The chat topics are determined entirely by the participants. We will prevent the use the Ambassador’s name or some permutation of his name as a nickname on the part of chat participants, as well as the use of indecent and rude language. The use of chat nicknames, identical or similar with Ambassador John Beyrle’s name will lead to removal from participation in the chat session. This helps us facilitate normal and adequate conditions for the web chat. Without aiming to change the standard chat format, we would highly appreciate it if, similar to the Ambassador, the other participants also use their real names and avoid anonymity.

The Web chat will broadcast live from the studio of bgweb.tv – the First Bulgarian Internet television. The answers to the questions will broadcast in real time as image, sound and text.

When questions are asked it is PREFERABLE to use the Cyrillic alphabet. Questions should be submitted in Bulgarian only. Ambassador Beyrle speaks very good Bulgarian, but at times might need to consult with an interpreter or an assistant.
The participants will be able to read the Ambassador’s answers in writing during the web chat. It is important to note that it is practically impossible for all questions to be answered.

A day after the online chat, the transcript of the chat session will be available in Bulgarian in the Archives section of the website.

Technical requirements
Following are the technical requirements for watching the web chat online:
A computer with a sound card and speakers and internet access connection speed of at least 28.8 Kbit/sec. The installation of Windows Media Player (WMP) is necessary, which is available free of charge.
IMPORTANT: The audio and video signal will be broadcast at two different frequencies and the installation of the latest WMP version is a must so the computer can detect automatically the speed and quality of the broadcast.
