Today turns 60 years from the establishment of the so-called Peoples Court to sentence the responsible for Bulgarias entering the World War and for all the consequences from the outcome of the war.
The decision for that court was taken on October 6th, 1944.The Peoples Court sentences ministers of the government in the period September 1st, 1941 - September 9th, 1944, members of the National Assembly, military figures and citizens. The punishment was death, life sentence, long-term sentence, fine up to 5 mln.leva, and taking away all possessions in favor of the State.
135 such trials took place in Bulgaria, with 11 122 people found guilty and sentenced.
