The director of the First Surgery Clinic of the University Hospital "St george:, Ass. Prof. Bozhidar Hadzhiev, won first prize at the European Congress of Coloproctology (colon and rectum diseases). Dr. Hadzhiev presented three scientific papers. The one that got awarded was dedicated to the radical surgery treatment of anal-rectal abscesses by means of a special methodics. He has offered innovations that the international jury awarded with first prize.
