Plovdiv Municipality has organized various events to celebrate the Day of Plovdiv, September 6th, which also is the national holiday of the Unification of Bulgaria.
- Sept.5th, 9.00 PM, at the Ancient Theatre in the Old Town – the dance performance “Bulgaria through the Centuries” by the “Bulgare” National Folklore Ensemble.
- Sept.6th, 10.00 AM, St Holy Mother Cathedral Church – official service by the Right Reverend, Metropolitan Bishop Arsenius and priests of the Plovdiv Eparchy.
- Sept.6th, 10.30 AM - floral tributes to the monuments of Major Raycho Nikolov and Zachary Stoyanov.
- Sept.6th, 11.15 AM, The Unification Museum – opening of the exhibition dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Plovdiv Singing Society “Angel Bukureshtliev”.
- Sept.6th, 12.00 PM, the Saedinenie Square – official award-giving ceremony for the winners of the 31st International Memorial Marathon “Saedinenie” (i.e. Unification).
- Sept.6th, 12.00 PM, Stefan Stambolov Sq. – concert of the Iglika Folklore Dance Ensemble
- Sept.6th, 7.00 PM, the Dzhumayata Sq. – Rodolyubie (i.e. Patriotism) Committee will present a remake of the events of September 6th, 1885.
- Sept.6th, 8.30 PM, the Saedinenie Sq. – official retreat ceremony, commanded by Colonel Mikhail Popov. Official address by the National Assembly Chairman, Georgi Pirinski.
