GENERAL ASSEMBLY DESIGNATED DAY OF REMEMBRANCE FOR ROAD TRAFFIC VICTIMS on the third Sunday of November each year. That would be the annual day of remembrance for victims of road traffic accidents and their families, the Assembly decided in 2005 by adopting a resolution on improving global road safety.

From the beginning of this year, 671 serious accidents have happened on the territory of the Plovdiv Region, with 80 people killed and 878 injured.
The Regional Police Department is joining the international initiative to commemorate all the people who have lost their lives or have suffered serious damages from road accidents - as a gesture od support to their relatives and families. Each year in Bulgaria about 1000 people get killed in accidents and another 11,000 get injured.
