July 21st (Thursday), 6 PM, free entrance ? Presentation of the Istanbul Biennale 2003 by Emil Marazchiev, at the Banya Starinna (Plovdiv Centre of Contemporary Art).
The presentation will be presented by a video taped during the Istanbul Biennale, which is one of most essential contemporary art events in the world. Its 2003 edition was the 8th in a row, with Dan Cameron (the director of the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York) as its curator. 85 participants of 42 countries took part in the Biennale, presenting their works in 4 large exhibition halls as well as in the outdoor (see the photo above).
The aim of that presentation is to present the large-scale art events happening all over the world to the Plovdiv audience. The initiative started some weeks ago by the presentation of the Venice Biennale 2005.
