Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services revise Bulgaria’s credit rating

Standard & Poor’s Agency is revising its perspective on Bulgaria moving its assessment from negative to stable. It has confirmed the long-term rating as being “BBB” and the short-term rating as “A-3”. Bulgaria’s rating reflects our opinion about this country’s reasonable fiscal policy and the low gross debt, the stable perspectives for growth in the mid-term and Bulgaria’s membership in the EU, the Agency comments. Standard & Poor’s experts expect Bulgaria to complete 2009 and 2010 with the lowest deficit among EU countries thanks to the conservative fiscal policy of the government.
