One of Bulgarias most famous and loved actors, Georgi Kaloyanchev, turns 82 today! He was born on January 13th, 1925, in the city of Bourgass. In the late 1940s he studied at the Sofia Theatre School and was invited as an actor at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre.
He became nation-wide popular with a number of unforgettable characters he played in movies, but among his greatest ones remains the character of the notorious Bay Ganyo of the Aleko Konstantinovs novel. In 2003 he was awarded the Actors Union Award for life contribution.
