The remains of Tsar Kaloyan have been reburied today 800 years after his death

The remains of the one of the most glorious kings of Bulgaria – Tsar Kaloyan (12th c.), have been reburied today, 800 years after his death, in the St 40 Martyrs Church in the once BG capital, Turnovo, with stately honors. The remains have been laid in a special metal coffin of non-corrosive nickel-covered steel, bearing the regal sign of Tsar Kaloyan. The re-burial of his remains will follow all the requirements for burial of a regal ruler and commander-in-chief.
